WHAT GOES INTO A MASTER BATH REMODEL?
Initial Consultation

Prior to knowing the cost to remodel your bathroom and doing any work, we will arrange a meeting at your home to review the situation carefully and to discuss the specifics of what it is you’re after. During this meeting, we will listen to your desires and concerns, take note of your preferences, and will be able to advise you on the best solutions for your particular needs.

Our goal is always to help you to achieve the best cost to value ratio, and we find that the initial discussion is an essential part of this process.

bathroom remodeling sketchIn cases where you’ll want walls to be moved, or windows to be installed, it might be necessary to consult with an architect or designer. Generally speaking, however, we will be able to create a simple upgrade plan with a minimal degree of fuss, as long as most plumbing features are set to remain in the same locations.

Following the approval of the sketch we create, you can either work directly with an interior designer to achieve your desired outcome, or you can visit one of our local tile stores where on-site designers can help you with the overall tiling and paint scheme.

What the Process Might Look like

In order to fully remodel a standard master bathroom and to give it a comprehensive upgrade, there are a number of things we would typically recommend.

Specifically, we find that it’s often in the interest of clients to change the flooring, to remove existing cabinets, sinks, faucets, countertops, shower walls, and floors, and to replace the existing bathtub.

underfloor heating for your bathroomAs the bathroom is being remodeled you will then be able to take advantage of fantastic modern features such as underfloor heating – which can have a tremendously positive effect on the comfort of the room during the winter months, in particular.

While it is often advisable to replace old bathroom cabinets – as these often deteriorate over time, and as modern cabinets tend to be significantly more robust and visually appealing – there are options available if your existing cabinets are in decent condition and you want to hold onto them. In particular, a good painter can work wonders in terms of sprucing up the aesthetic appeal of the exterior of your cabinets.

Some of the most popular bathroom features we routinely install are new quartz countertops, which come as a single platform with a matching backsplash, and are available in many different colors. These are easy to maintain and can complement just about any style. Undermount sinks are also popular depending on the specific look you’re after.

Bathroom RemodelCurb-less showers With frameless glass doors are a popular addition, and are also a more accessible choice for older homeowners, while simultaneously being easier to keep clean. Many homeowners also choose to have old Jacuzzi tubs replaced with new free-standing tubs without jets.

Lighting is particularly important in bathrooms, and we can tailor the illumination style in your bathroom to your preferences.

How Much Does it Cost to Remodel a Bathroom?

A major master bathroom remodel will run from $50,000 to $70,000, although if you plan to keep many of your existing bathroom features you may pay less. The size of your bathroom will also affect the remodeling price.
